Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of VaultLayer. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms.

1. About VaultLayer
VaultLayer is a website operations platform operated by SquareCode UK Limited. The platform provides monitoring, analysis, reporting, automation and operational tooling for websites and infrastructure.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for:
- maintaining the security of your account
- keeping your password confidential
- all activity carried out under your account
You must provide accurate information when registering.
3. Subscription plans
VaultLayer offers both free and paid subscriptions. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.
4. Payment
Payments are billed in advance. Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of services.
5. Trials
Where trial periods are offered they automatically expire unless converted to a paid subscription.
6. Website monitoring
By connecting a website you confirm that you have authority to monitor and manage that website. You remain responsible for the websites you connect.
7. Automated remediations
VaultLayer may offer automated maintenance and remediation features. These include, but are not limited to:
- software updates
- cache management
- configuration changes
- service restarts
- security recommendations
- performance optimisations
Automation is always governed by the permissions, policies and approval settings configured within your account. Where approval is required, VaultLayer will not execute changes until approved. Where automatic execution is enabled, you authorise VaultLayer to perform those actions on your behalf.
8. Rollback
Where supported, VaultLayer may provide rollback capabilities following automated changes. Rollback availability depends on:
- integration support
- platform capabilities
- the type of remediation performed
Rollback should not be considered a substitute for backups.
9. Third-party integrations
VaultLayer integrates with third-party platforms including cloud providers, deployment tools and website management systems. Your use of those services remains subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or behaviour of third-party services.
10. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use VaultLayer unlawfully
- interfere with platform operation
- attempt unauthorised access
- upload malicious software
- use the platform to attack third parties
We may suspend accounts involved in abuse.
11. Availability
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Scheduled maintenance may occur from time to time.
12. Intellectual property
VaultLayer, its software, branding, documentation and content remain the property of SquareCode UK Limited. No rights are granted except those necessary to use the service under these Terms.
13. Customer data
You retain ownership of all data you submit to VaultLayer. You grant us the rights necessary to process that data solely for the purpose of providing the service.
14. Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep confidential information secure and not disclose it except where required by law.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- VaultLayer is provided on an “as available” basis.
- We exclude implied warranties where permitted.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses.
- Our total liability arising from these Terms shall not exceed the fees paid by you to VaultLayer during the twelve months preceding the relevant claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
16. Termination
You may cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or where continued access would present a security or legal risk.
17. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the website or by email.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
